Missions

Thanks for visiting our Missions page on the Bethel Baptist Church web site.
The body of believers that make up the Bethel Baptist Church are unwavering in their commitment to missions.
We believe the words our Lord spoke in the book of Acts chapter 1 and verse 8 are not a suggestion but rather a mandate.

Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

On the local level we support in our budget many faith related ministries as well as supply volunteers to staff these ministries.
We have over 25 people trained in Disaster relief work; ready to respond to any type of emergency whenever we are called upon to share the love of Jesus in a practical manner.

On June 15th 2006 three of our men wemt to Botswana Africa to be part of Preaching Crusades in 5 different villages there.

Pastor Kenny as well as Brother Randy Linville and Brother Richard Garrell travelled along with 5 others from the Tates Baptist Creek Association on a 14 day trip sharing the wonderful love of Jesus.

Also three of our members  Kenny Murphy and Randy and Judy Lamb went to Alex, Oklahoma to help in the construction of a new church.

Botswana 2006 Mission Trip

On June 15th 2006 a team made up of 8 people from the Tates Creek Baptist Association began a journey to Botswana Africa to hold Crusades in 4 different locations.
The teams shared their faith and preached the Gospel as well as conducted Bible studies.
The Team was made up of members of 4 different churches.
Neil and Mary Prather represented the Hayes Fork Baptist Church
Carl Powell represented the First Baptist Church of Richmond
Ed Hubbard and Amanda Smith represented the White Lick Baptist Church
Randy Linville, Richard Garrell and Kenny Davis represented the Bethel Baptist Church.

The team flew from Lexington to Atlanta and from Atlanta to Johannesburg South Africa and from Johannesburg to Gaborone Botswna.
In Gaborone they were picked up at the airport by the IMB missionary Robert Fortenberry who transported them to the town of Lobatse Botswana.
The missionary compound in Lobatse served as the central point for Crusades conducted not only in Lobatse but also in the villages of Molopowabojang, Lotlhakane and Digawana.

We were Blessed to see 198 souls come to Christ for salvation and many others who recommitted themselves to serving Jesus Christ!!!
Check back in the Days and weeks ahead for new photos taken while we were on this wonderful mission for the Lord.
